Standout tracks. Definitely one of my picks for best albums of 2008 and definitely an album that should be owned by millions on sheer beauty alone. Ray reminds us that life in its entirety is full of soul and that we must do our best to treat it with the respect and love it deserves. Ray Lamontange is an amazing song writer, both lyrically, musically and vocally. you could say the entire album, because there is not one weak song on it. This album is yet another masterpiece from a guy who's doing his best to do Van Morrison proud in the singer songwriter sense of that phrase. I haven't had the pleasure of seeing this man live, but trust me that the first chance I get, I'll be there. He's so measured and his vocals are so incredibly warm and tender that if you are sensible to music, you WILL respond.
I only wish that I could attend a concert and hear that voice as it should be heard.in person.up close.and personal. Everytime I listen to this CD, I am glad that I purchased it.
Beautiful and rich if you'll sit along quietly with it. A quiet album regardless of the RnB of the first song.
This is a review of the MP3 download of "Gossip in the Grain". I have brought this to Amazon's attention and they have refunded my purchase.
I love the fact that Amazon offers a high bit-rate, non-DRM encrypted alternative to iTunes. However, they have not fixed the problem.
This is not a review of the quality of music on this album. THE RECORDINGS ARE SO LOUD THAT ALL OF RAY'S VOCALS ARE DISTORTED.
AMAZON PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM. I love Ray and everything he has ever done.
THIS IS A HORRIBLE MP3 RIP.
If you are trying to decide which CD of his to buy --This is IT. Gossip In The Grain is by far his best CD. Trouble and Till The Sun Turns Black are both excellent; however, this is his best work yet.
